Life, Love, and Family

Hello there! I’m Guy Trancy (though friends call me Tran) – a devoted family man in my 40’s, living in Manchester with my darling wife Jenny and two young kids, Charlotte (9) and Oliver (10), who mean the world to me. Life is always bustling in our household between the kids’ varying activities, my job as an accountant, and my wife’s demanding role as a nurse. But we make it a priority to have a special bonding time as a family amidst the chaos. Every Saturday we have Family Fun Day where we ditch electronics and responsibilities to play silly made-up games or have a picnic lunch followed by a trip to the cinema. During the week I help the kids polish up their magic tricks before they put on a show for us after dinner (which usually involves a lot of giggles). Jenny and I also sneak in date nights twice a month when my mum happily watches the little ones.

Beyond the Bio

Though life moves fast, I’ve been blessed with a core group of mates who have been there since our carefree university days. We meet up once a month at the pub for beers and banter, reminiscing about past adventures while updating each other on this newest life chapter of raising families. It’s a lively, laughter-filled evening that allows me a mental reset. Whenever we have time, I also make time for golf outings with my best college buddy. And I attend a weekly football match with childhood mates – we may have gained a few pounds and lost some hair since our glory days on the secondary school pitch, but out there kicking the ball back and forth, it feels like no time has passed.

Amongst chasing after kids and keeping a million balls in the air with home and work, moments to catch my breath don’t come often. But whether it’s an evening out with the lads or an afternoon romp in the park with my family, I strive for those connections. Because at the end of the day, relationships are what life is all about.
